You may not know this about our family, but we are huge Jan Brett fans! Especially Jan Brett’s winter and Christmas board books for toddlers! Her Christmas books are the most beautiful balance of unique twists on stories and exquisite illustrations. I love that her books come in a board book version for my younger kids to be able to confidently read her stories on their own in the Christmas glow before bed.
We love Jan Brett because she has the most extraordinary illustrations for her books. There are always beautiful pictures in the boards of the book – astonishing, tiny details about the story in all the nooks and crannies of her books.
Last year we kept our Jan Brett The Twelve Days of Christmas board book in our vehicle and would sing the lyrics of the song while flipping through the pages with the kids. And I plan to do that again this year. Hopefully, they will catch on to the lyrics more and more each year!
