I am on a tulle skirt binge – whether it’s edgy and chic, or feminine and delicate I love tulle skirts!

If you are not feeling the black + gold colour palette for Christmas parties feel free to go back to the traditional red and green. I don’t wear red because it clashes with my hair but I love to wear all shades of green!

Giving Back: Favourite Holiday Charities

Remember when you read the Berenstain Bears books when you were young?

There was the one book (The Berenstain Bears and the Joy of Giving
) about Mama Bear decluttering their house of all the children’s gently-used-but-no-longer-played-with toys and games, Papa’s unused collection of fishing poles and fishing magazines, and Mama’s piles of never been looked at cookbooks and the stacks of fabric she would one day potentially use – and then they donated all their stuff to the old folks home, children’s hospital, and salvation army. Donating during the holidays is a wonderful way to give back to your community!

This year I decided to participate in one of the many charity drives my church does, creating a basket of household items for teen moms and teen parents at the Terra Centre.

As a young woman who became pregnant at 18 year old, I know the struggles financially and emotionally that come with having a baby so young and felt compelled to spread the blessing of my family to another young family.

The items one the list ranged from deodorant to dish towels to mittens for little ones. Instead of buying a couple of dresses or a new purse buying this Black Friday I invested into a family, and it felt even better than any shopping high I have ever had.

God calls on us to bless the needy in the bible:

“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” Hebrews 13:16

“The one who is gracious to the poor lends to the Lord, and the Lord will repay him for his good deed.” Proverbs 19:17

“Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.” Proverbs 22:9

Here are some of my favourite charities to give to this Christmas:

Terra Centre

Samaritan’s Purse

 Hope Mission

Young Life

The Mustard Seed

Boys & Girls Club Big Brother Big Sisters

What are your favourite charities to either donate money to, volunteer for, or spread the word?

Favourite Holiday Beauty Look

It has been a while since I’ve shared a beauty look – you know that I am obsessed with skincare so naturally I also adore makeup products.

I am recreating the naturally dramatic beauty look that I wore to the Lululemon YEG event in late November. Flawless skin, structured brows, natural subtle eye makeup, and dark lips – better known to me as my favourite holiday beauty look.

Gift Guides For The Holidays

Foreo Luna Foreo Iris

This Christmas season I have been on a gift guide roll – I can’t get enough of them. Whether you are buying for moms, special women in your life, or family and friends there is a gift guide out there for everyone.

Any of these products are perfect for anyone obsessed with skincare – especially if they have sensitive skin!

Foreo Luna 2 + Iris | The Luna 2 (available in mini/travel size too) is a must have for anyone who finds other deep cleansing devices too abrasive for their skin. While the Iris massages your eye promoting circulation and overall decreasing puffiness.

Skinceuticals | Phyto Corrective Gel, Phloretin CF, Metacell B3, Triple Lipid Replenishment Treatment | The moment I started using the Skinceuticals products my skin’s hydration instantly improved. I can not sing the Triple Lipid Replenishment Treatment’s praises any higher, it is simply skin (and life) changing.

Whiter Teeth For The Holidays | Pop Smile Review

This post has been sponsored by Pop Smile. All opinions are 100% my own.

pop-smile-teeth-whitening-kit

Are your teeth not as white as you would like? If you’re like me keeping up on my oral hygiene isn’t a problem for me but when I need my daily americano misto(s) the stains build up over time. For years I tried other drug store brands but couldn’t consistently use them because my teeth are sensitive and would ache for hours after applying.

Pop Smile Teeth Whitening Kit

After learning about Pop Smile’s peroxide-free (that’s the ingredient in drug store brands that cause your teeth and gums to be sensitive or have a burning sensation), 99% natural ingredient kits I needed to get my hands on one.

The Pop Smile Ultimate Teeth Whitening Kit comes with:

1 LED device
2x customisable mouth guards
3x 3ml syringes
5x 0.2ml pre treatment swabs
1 mouth guard case
1 teeth whitening pen
1 Pop Smile travel pouch

Pop Smile Teeth Whitening Kit

Pop Smile Teeth Whitening KitI started out on the level 12 on the whitening chart and after using one kit I went up 5 levels! So how does the kit work?

The instructions tell you to boil your mouth guard for a couple seconds then remove them and place them on your teeth to mold them to a personalized whitening tray.

Then you take a pre-treatment whitening swab and swab your teeth. Take 1 syringe and fill the top and bottom trays with 0.5mL to each tray. Put the trays in your mouth and hold the LED up to the trays and wait for 10 minutes.

I was surprised how fast 10 minutes goes by when you’re relaxing – and then you’re done!

I love how white my teeth are and if I find that I need a quick touch up for date night or a photoshoot I use the teeth whitening pen – and then I’m photo ready!

Do you have more questions about Pop Smile? Check out their FAQ page.

Are you ready for the best part? I’ve partnered with Pop Smile to giveaway for 2 participants to win a Ultimate Teeth Whitening Kit each! Enter below:

This giveaway is open worldwide. The giveaway will end December 14th, 2016 and then winners will be contacted via email.

How To Prevent Poor, Chapped Winter Skin On Babies | BeautyCounter Canada Baby Skin Products

Gentle Baby Skin Products Gentle Baby Skin Products Gentle Baby Skin Products Chunky Knit White Alpaca Wool Cowl Gentle Baby Skin ProductsGentle Baby Skin Products White Macarons Gentle Baby Skin Products

Winter weather is rough on my babies’ skin. Typically they get little dry skin patches on their backs, and chapped cheeks from the harsh wind.

This year to combat the dry winter air I use Beauty Counter Baby products on both my daughters because it seals in the moisture and Beauty Counter has banned many chemicals from their products so I know their stuff is the gentlest on my girl’s skin.

The baby bundle includes daily protective balm, soothing oil, and gentle all-over wash – it’s the perfect gift for a baby shower or for a new mom this Christmas!

Why do I use BeautyCounter? All my personal product preferances and the few reasons I joined as a BeautyCounter Consultant in Edmonton are written here.

Gift Guide: Presents for Moms

What gift do I buy a mom for Christmas?

Don’t fret! I combed through my entire local buybuy BABY‘s store to find Christmas gift inspiration for the special mamas in your life!

Breast pumps, nipple shields, and sound machines are not included on this guide but those are great gifts as well – this gift guide will be focusing on gifts that focus on her instead of her baby. As a relatively new mom (with young children) I love receiving presents that reflect my passions and have had a lot of thought and care put into it.

Let’s get started!

Arm Candy | This bag caught my eye the minute I saw it – I knew I had to have it! It looks nothing like a traditional diaper bag yet it has a removable organization sleeve. It’s the perfect gift for the stylish mom in your life!

SKIP*HOP® 2-in-1 diaper bag

At Home Spa | Gift her this Christmas with the best gear, a bath caddy – it will encourage her to take more time to herself with a relaxing bath. The extendable ends adjust to any bathtub width between 20″ – 33″ wide, secure wine glass holder, and built in book rest are some of the great features of this caddy. You can also find the Moscow mule mugs in this gift guide.

Teak Bathtub Caddy

Pregnancy Fashionista | buybuy Baby has a great selection of Motherhood Maternity clothing in store (talk about convenient) and I could not leave the store without browsing the beautiful maternity clothing. The Motherhood Maternity clothing line is classic, flattering, and trendy. So if you have a mommy to-be on your Christmas list to buy for this is an excellent option!

Maternity Denim Top (available in-store at buybuy Baby)

Baby’s 1st Christmas | For my eldest daughter’s 1st Christmas a family member gifted me this mess-free DIY baby’s 1st Christmas ornament kit. At first I thought it silly but now it is one of my favourite ornaments to look at.

I found it comforting that buybuy Baby still carries the kit and I was able to make a matching ornament for my youngest daughter. It was the perfect gift to capture a moment in time that I will treasure forever of both my babies.

Pearhead Babyprints Ornaments (available in multiple colours)

Stocking Stuffer Snacks | Looking for fun little stocking stuffer ideas for a new mom? Why not add these delicious, all natural lactation cookies to her stocking this year. The Booby Boons come in two different flavours – oatmeal raisin and cocoa quinoa.

Did any of these gifts from buybuy BABY catch your eye? Don’t forget to share this gift guide on Facebook and Twitter for family and friends to know what you’d like under the tree this year!
