How I love versatile pieces!

Taking your outfit from work to weekend all starts with how you buy clothing and build up your wardrobe. It is honestly not that difficult merging your work and non-work wardrobes, I find it exhausting having two completely separate wardrobes. So, what are the first steps?

Style Staples | this includes all my neutral pattern/no pattern clothing. They are my basics. Your staples can be any colour, texture, style – they’re the building blocks to your wardrobe. In these outfits the sweater is the style staple.

Deluxe Details | this is where you customize your outfit – whether it’s for a coffee date, a wedding, a meeting, or a dinner – make it your own! The minute I saw these skirts I had to have them and they are my muses for each outfit. They set the tone. With the short flare skirt it had the structure I want for formal meetings and the pattern’s colours were perfect for all. While the maxi skirt’s feminine floral pattern was ideal for a Saturday morning at the city farmer’s market.

This is why I love fashion! As everyone knows it’s ever evolving in the fashion industry but my favourite part is watching an individual’s fashion sense grow. For myself I wore sweat pants daily throughout high school, so seeing where I am now and what I enjoy wearing makes me a bit giddy because I know in the next few years I will be looking back and seeing how far I’ve expanded myself in my fashion journey.

Fall is my favourite season to shop – I am able to buy all my jeans on sale and the most beautiful sweaters are now available. I have a thing for sweaters with feminine details especially shirttails, braided knits, and off the shoulder sweaters.

And I just ordered 3 more pairs of jeans while the sales are on full blast (some jeans are as low as $15!!). If you are obsessed with boyfriend jeans like I am you’ll love the sales going on at Banana Republic – you’ll have to double check the remaining sizes in stock but there are some gems in the mix.

Happy shopping!

Hydrate And Sooth | Get Your Skin Under Control With Odacitè + Osea Malibu

Dry Skin From Changing Seasons? How To Get Your Skin Under Control

Skincare Haul For Dry Skin Products

Raise your hand if your skin tends to flip out on you when the seasons change? *my hand raises*

Join the club! But instead of attempting to cover up the mess of dry skin patches with scarves or makeup (which honestly draws more attention to it) I protect my skin with milk cleansers, hydrating serums, and soothing masks.

Odacite Synergie[4] Immediate Skin Perfecting Beauty Masque: After you wash this masque off your skin feels so soft and supple. Plus you are able to mix and create different combinations using the masque’s powder (adding yogurt, lemon juice, etc.) which is like having 5 different masques from 1 product – I can’t wait to try all the different combinations I can come up with.

Odacite Eye Contour Serum: Rich in vitamins A, E, and F. It reduces wrinkles, puffiness, and dark circles. I use it in the morning and at night – it smells lovely and keeps my sensitive eye skin hydrated.

Odacite Radiance Effect Serum: The lemongrass tightens and refines dull skin while the Camellia seed oil (extracted from the antioxidant seeds of Green Tea) restores your skin’s radiance. I add 1-2 drops to my moisturizer and apply it after I have washed my skin.

How to get your skin under control with Honey & Betts

Osea Ocean Cleansing Milk: Not only does this facial cleanser replace lost moisture and heal sun-damaged skin, it also improves the appearance of wrinkles and reduces the signs of aging. It’s the perfect solution for those who find cleansers to be too harsh for daily cleansing.

Osea Ocean Cleansing Mudd: I am obsessed with this mudd – it creates such a tingling, tea tree minty sensation – your pores will thank-you later! I use this cleanser once a week or if my skin is breaking out.

Osea Atmosphere Protection Cream: This is my new daily moisturizer – I love the texture, the smell, and how it dries matte. It has a seaweed base so it’s silky and lightweight.

Osea Essential Corrective Complex: This little roll on stick is a blemish blaster – similar to the products you’ve probably bought from a drug store but the Essential Corrective Complex doesn’t dry out your unwanted acne and leave scars. It is antibacterial, antiseptic, and anti-fungal. And it also combats against cold sores, insect bites and ingrown hairs.

Welcome September! The leaves are already turning brilliant colours and I can’t wait to start planning our family trips to the corn maze. And don’t get me started on the Pumpkin Spice Lattes (I fully accept how “basic” that makes me!), they are bliss in my mouth.

End Of Summer Beauty Must-Haves | How To Get Glowing Tanned Skin, Perfect Eye Makeup, And Flawless Nails

Not Ready To Give Up Your Tanned Glowing Skin? You Don’t Have To!

st. tropez self tan classic bronzing mousse

Summer’s over but that doesn’t mean our obsession with makeup and beauty products comes to an end! Oh no, this is just the beginning.

Less sun from sitting inside a classroom or at an office desk means we need some beauty pick-me-ups. So here are my latest beauty must-haves:

St. Tropez Classic Bronzing Mousse | You’ve probably been eyeing this baby, or one of the many St. Tropez bronzing products, up for a long time. The price is a little scary but trust me, as a former sceptic, I am head over heels for this product. The colour is never orange, the buffing mitt is easy to navigate, and you come out looking like a tanned goddess.

Stila Perfect Hue & Cheek Palette (and in medium/dark) | As a beginner eye makeup applier, this palette is magic. The shadows are highly pigmented and look beautiful even with very little applied, the instructions are clear, and the end results are stunning.

Ceramic Glaze | These nail polishes surprised me the most as I was expecting that they would be a regular glossy nail polish. When I applied the pink it dried with a beautiful pearly finish. If you are looking for some exciting new nail products this is for you!

Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil | I love my face oils and adding this one to my daily routine was a no-brainer. I apply it before I start my makeup routine to refresh and hydrate my skin. I can’t wait to test it out with the upcoming winter weather, I have a feeling this is going to be a skin saver.

Edmonton is often written off in the fashion blogger scene because of it’s extreme north location and it’s simple prairie “vibes”. The wind has a bite to it, the sun sets a bit earlier, and fall will be upon us sooner than you think. And just because you need more layers to dress doesn’t mean you need to look drab.

Maybe it’s time to spice up your wardrobe with mixing and matching patterns this fall. If you are a beginner at mix-matching patterns I always suggest to keep the patterns monotone (to one set of colours, like black+white stripes and polka dots).

What patterns have you always wanted to wear together? Maybe this year you’ll see me break out the plaid/stripes/holiday pattern combo. You’ll just have to wait and see!
